SUPPLY OFFICER
LT JAMES R. MCCLURG
Lieutenant James R. McClurg was born in Chincoteague, Virginia. In 1973 he received his commission through the United States Naval Academy. After commissioning he was assigned to limited duty with Commandant, Fifth Naval District, Norfolk, Virginia and with the Naval Amphibious School Command. He has served onboard USS INCHON (LPH-12) as the Auxiliaries Officer and as Main Propulsion Assistant. He transferred into the Naval Supply Corps in 1976. After graduating from the Naval Supply Corps School in March 1977 he reported for duty onboard USS RICHARD S. EDWARDS (DD-950) as Supply Officer.

CAPT James R. McClurg, SC, USN, completed 24 years of active service and retired on Dec. 1, 1997, after serving at the Joint Logistics Systems Center, Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio. He received his bachelors degree from the U.S. Naval Academy. His previous duty stations include Office of the Commander in Chief, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; USS NIAGARA FALLS (AFS 3); Commander in Chief, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, Norfolk, Va.; Commander Submarine Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, Norfolk, Va.; USS SIMON LAKE (AS 33); U.S. Naval Supply Depot, Yokosuka, Japan; Fleet Introduction Team Three, Seattle, Wash.; USS RICHARD S. EDWARDS (DD 950); and USS INCHON (LPH 12).
