Commander Robert A. HOGSED, USN

Commanding Officer of the USS RICHARD S. EDWARDS (DO 950), was graduated from the United States Naval Academy in June 1944 (Class of 1945) and has served in four other destroyers, INGRAHAM , LYMAN K. SWENSON, GAINARD and CONY, and the aircraft carrier, LAKE CHAMPLAIN. Other duty assignments include the Staff of Commander Naval Base, Norfolk, Virginia, and the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations in Washington. He is a graduate of the Command and Staff Course and the Naval Warfare Course at the U. S. Naval War College, Newport, Rhode Island. Prior to assuming command of the RICHARD S. EDWARDS, COR HOGSED was attached to the Staff of the Naval War College..
